The Ultimate Summer Dress Guide
Double denim – jacket and dress together?
If you haven’t noticed the latest trend for double denim, where have you been? Whilst many of us have spent the last decade carefully avoiding wearing double denim for fear of being accused of being stuck in the nineties, it now seems that all is forgiven, and is actually really trendy to wear double denim. It might have something to do with this summer’s obsession with all things nineties from grunge to minimalism and even dayglo clothes. So what does double denim actually mean? what are the key must have denim pieces for the season? and how do you combine denim a way that is fresh and stylish?
Double denim is the term that has been coined by the fashion press, bloggers and any one else who regular analyses and follows the latest trends, to describe the wearing of at least two pieces of denim together. This could be a pair of jeans and a denim shirt or a denim dress with a denim jacket. It could well involve head to toe denim, in a look that most of us would not have been seen dead in just last year. It has to be said though, that denim in one form or another is a favourite with almost everyone. How many people live in their jeans or just can’t resist throwing on their faded old denim jacket with the summers must have floral dress. The question mark for most of us is about combining two pieces of denim together. Yes denim is practical, yes blue denim is really flattering for most people and yes denim is probably one of the most versatile fabrics but can we get away with wearing two denim pieces at once?
