I like unfussy clothes that are comfortable and easy for every day. I love mixing labels, finding vintage-style pieces from unexpected sources such as designer warehouses and of course sample sales. I like to dress up for special occasions though, and that usually means a “dressy” dress.

However, when I do get time to relax I love nothing more than a nice bright summer dress. Flowers have always been an integral part of my life – my mother had 184 types of rose in her garden. When I’m feeling summery, what better way to show this off than through the clothes I wear. Those sunny days walking round town in a gorgeous floral dress with the sun beaming down are picture perfect. Each and every summer floral prints are always at the height of fashion and can be found in any and every high street clothing store.

First things first

Let’s keep it simple, think about what style you usually wear, favourite colours, do you like simple or busy designs. Choosing the right dress isn’t just about what looks pretty on the model in the picture. Get this right and you will turn every ones head the second you walk into the room.

Be brave, colour is important

Remember to think about colour, especially if you have a fuller figure. It would be far better to go for a dress made in your favourite colour or one that compliments your skin as you will feel comfortable and that always shows Nothing makes a girl sexier than confidence does. If you do go for a rather bright colour to keep the detail on the dress to an absolute minimum, simple floral patterns.
