Prince Charles voted best dressed man
Esquire have named Prince Charles the best dressed male.
Even though the Prince gets a bit of flak from British press about his sometimes questionable fashion sense and those hats he managed to top a poll and get named the worlds best dressed man!
The 60-year-old Prince of Wales somehow managed to beat sharp dressers like Barack Obama, the tennis champ Roger Federer and the sichdasha robe-wearing Kuwaiti royal Sheikh Majed al-Sabah to take the crown as best dressed male.
Head gear aside the Prince was admired for his tailored fit suits from Saville Row tailors Gieves and Hawkes.
Esquire concluded his favoured double breasted suits showed he was a man of style, impeccably dressed befitting his position as heir apparent.
“He is perfectly turned out in a double-breasted suit,” magazine judges stated.
“Admirably, the Prince keeps his wardrobe in appropriate style: we’re told he has a room laid out like a tailor’s shop.”
Charles was also admired for his taste in accessories, usually including a pocket handkerchief, silk tie and shoes by John Lobb, which cost more than £3000 a pair.
Both Prime Minister Gordon Brown and London mayor Boris Johnson were criticised for their poor choices in clothing.
“Gordon Brown turned up in the Iraqi desert wearing black lace-ups and Boris Johnson wears odd socks, has jacket pockets like second-hand bookshops, and hair the result of an encounter with a ghost in a wind tunnel,” one judge commented.
