So what trends can we expect to see this year, we take a peak into the future to help you be on-trend with your choice of summer dresses this season.

Glancing back retrospectively for a minute, and reflecting on the trends that have gone before, we think with fondness about boyfriend blazers, the rock chic look, metallics, leather, jumpsuits and lest we forget, statement shoulders.. but hey we’ve got news for you, they ain’t going anyway in a hurry, so last years wardrobe is safe!

But as we look into the abyss of yet another years fashion dilemma, we’re trying to pick out what hot trends are emerging for your summer dresses and fashions in 2010.

As Lipsy are one of our faves around here, we’ll also see if we can pick out some winning Lispy dresses to illustrate our findings.

First up are Lace Dresses and they are an absolute must this summer, they’re in everyone’s store at the mo including Lipsy, so make sure you don’t miss out on these. Inspired by designers such as Galliano, Chloe and Chanel, lace is the biggest thing to hit the shops this Summer. Mark my words! to reinforce the fact, Vogue recently proclaimed that lace shouldn’t just be worn for evening-wear and Party Dresses. They exclaim about Lace, “Wear casually around the clock. Pretty lacey tees and decorated denim up the ante on day wear”, they further advise to consider subtle details such as “lace panels add elegance to any item”.

Next we examine Floral Dresses floral Prints; Everyone who’s anyone in fashion has been using floral prints as the centrepiece of their summer fashion collections this season. Pastels: are making a come back which is very 80′s, remember Miami Vice? Summer dresses will stand out as they feature Graphic geometric, futuristic and tropical designs, you’ll also find them on skirts, tops and jackets and yes, even jumpsuits.
